Logrono Airport Mini Guide
Logrono-Agoncillo Airport is a small airport located just outside the city. It only offers flights to Barcelona, Madrid,
Ibiza and
Palma de Mallorca. These flights are served by Air Nostrum, which offers several flights daily. It has a small but very personal terminal building with enough facilities to provide for each customer satisfactorily.
Logrono itself is located in the northern part of Spain along the Ebro River. It is best known for its trade in Rioja wine although it also produces fine textiles. One of the main attractions there is the Co-Cathedral Santa Maria de la Redonda. An amazing Gothic style church which is actually built where a 12th century temple once stood. It has two huge towers which were added in the 18th century, an incredible sight which should be seen.
For a proper taste of the Spanish way of life, take a drive in your hire car along the National Road (N-111) which follows the Iregua River. You will see quaint Spanish villages such as Nalda and Abelda. These are strewn with vineyards and orchards, a true haven for nature lovers.
For something a little livelier, head to the town square on the avenue of peace. You will see street performers and many public acts and the occasional concert if you are there at the right time. It is also the perfect place to just sit back and watch the world go by while sipping a coffee from one of the many cafes.
