Burgos Mini Guide
Burgos Spain is an Industrial town about 210km (130 miles) north of Madrid, whose products range from flour to tyres. Burgos was the birthplace of El Cid (Rodrigo Diaz, Sire of Vivar, about 1060-99), a Spanish national hero who led the Christian fight against the Moors. His remains are in the town's twin-spired 13th century cathedral, one of Europe's finest Gothic buildings. The surrounding Burgos province is largely forested.
