Considered to have the highest number of castles and chateaus in the world for its size, Slovakia is a great country in which to go sight seeing.



Much of the wonderful architecture in Slovakia is Gothic, though there are traces of the Baroque and Renaissance influences too. Take some time to explore the Slovakian cities of Banska Bystrica, Kosice, Levoca, Nitra, Poprad and Zilina to get a sense of the history and atmosphere of this great country.
Located in central Europe and hemmed in by Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and the Ukraine, Slovakia can be easily accessed by driving from any of these countries.

There is a route from Krakow in Poland to Slovakia and this involves going over the Tatra Mountains.
