About the Airport
Palermo Airport is also known as Falcone-Borsellino Airport or Punta Raisa Airport. It is located in Punta Raisa and 35 km away from the city of Palermo in Sicily. The airport is named after 2 leading anti-mafia judges who were murdered in 1992.
How can I fly There?
There are scheduled and budget airlines operating into Palermo Airport and charter airlines offer some seasonal flights. Currently, 24 airlines fly into Palermo Airport from many destinations in Europe.
Can I get to the City Easily?
You can take a train from the airport’s own rail station Punta Raisi to the city of Palermo, it leaves every 30 minutes during the day. Autolinee prestia e Comande buses also leave every half hour to Palermo. If you have hired a car, just take the A29 highway straight to the city centre.
What Facilities Does the Airport Have?
There is an Information Desk on the first floor, for any questions you may have at the airport. To find out more about what you can see in the area, go to the Regional Province of Palermo Tourist Office on the ground floor. There are 3 ATMs and a bank if you need extra Euros and a Bureau de Change for changing some money.
For business class passengers, there is the VIP Lounge Verga Alitalia or the Gesap VIP Lounge – there you can relax in comfort before your flight, check emails and have some light refreshments. There is also a pharmacy and post office at the airport should you require them.
What About Shopping and Eating?
There are a few shops and cafes at the airport. For your souvenirs and local products to take home, have a look in Sicilia a Memoria and Sicilia Arte. You can buy clothing and sunglasses at the airport or visit the duty free shop and look for bargains. If you are looking for a sweet snack go to Pasticceria Palazzolo.
Is There an Airport Hotel?
No, but you can stay at the Florio Park Hotel, 4 km away and they can provide a shuttle service to and from the airport. The hotel has a restaurant and coffee shop for when you get hungry and there is also a bar/lounge area. You can visit the hotel health club and spa or relax by the swimming pool. There is a business centre if you need to work and there is free Wi-Fi in public areas. The hotel has its own private beach or you can sit on the roof terrace.
