Nimes Airport (FNI), or the Nimes Ales Camargue Cevennes Airport, serves the city of Nimes. With a car you can visit the Camargue, Ales, Cevennes and Garons. The airport has some low cost commercial services with Ryanair allowing you to fly to Brussels South-Charleroi and London Luton. Meanwhile Eagles Airlines allows you to fly to Forli in Italy.
There are also seasonal flights to Liverpool and Palma de Mallorca. Once you arrive at Nimes Airport it is easy to collect your vehicle (you can save money by booking in advance) and make the short drive to the beautiful Mediterranean coast.

Nimes Airport has been called different names over the years. It is sometimes known as Garons Airport or Nimes-Arles-Camargue. This name relates to the three main areas that the airport serves. The airport is used by Ryanair for commercial purposes and Royal Maroc also flies to Casablanca. The airport is also use by the French Navy.
After arriving at the airport you can collect your Rhino hire car and begin your holiday or trip. There are a lot of interesting and historical places in the region. Nimes has some very important Roman architecture which includes the famous amphitheatre Les Arenes. The arena is spectacular and is still in use today for concerts and the famous bullfighting. Also La Maison Carre which was built by Agrippa for his sons. The building is in a very well preserved state and is popular for tourists who can watch a short film about Nimes inside the building. There is a fascinating Roman aqueduct that is still in very good condition called the Pont du Gard. It is used to carry water over the Gardon valley.
Arles is the main town in the Camargue. It is a beautiful and peaceful town that was once home to Vincent Van Gogh. There is also a Roman amphitheatre in Arles although not on the scale of the one in Nimes. It is used for bullfighting and the Rice Fiesta in September. Arles also has a classical Roman theatre the Crypto porticos incorporate Gallo-Romano columns. There is a great little museum that gives detailed accounts of the past history of the area. There is an early Christian Burial site called Les Alyscamps which is worth a visit.
One of the best things to do in Arles is visit the Saturday Market which is very popular in the town and has people travel from all over the Camargue to visit it.
