Can I get to the City Easily?
To get there you may use Basel Airport as it is 25 km away and an easy drive using the A35. Alternatively you could take a shuttle bus into the city, the journey takes 30 minutes. The SNCF connects the airport to the city station too as well as cities such as Paris and Lyon. Once you are in the city, you can use the city trams or the Solea buses to get around.

What can I see in Mulhouse?
Mulhouse is famous for its museums, especially the National Car Museum Schlumpf Collection and the French Railway Museum – they are the largest transport museums in France. Take a walk in the Place de la Reunion in the heart of the city and gaze at the trompe l’oeil paintings in the 16th century Hotel de Ville or town hall. If you like nature, visit the Parc Zoologique  et Botanique de Mulhouse, explore the botanical gardens and see 1200 animals at the zoo.

Where can I Stay?
The Hotel Le Strasbourg is in the city centre and close to the train station and the museums. It is a 2 star hotel with 48 rooms and Wi-Fi is available for a charge. The Kyriad Hotel is also in the city centre and close to bars and restaurants. It is a 3 star modern hotel with 60 rooms and free Wi-Fi. There is also a fitness centre with sauna and hammam available to residents.

What’s the Food Like?
Try the baeckoffe, it’s a stew made with 3 meats and served with rice or spatzle. The marrow dumplings or markknopfle are another dish only made locally in this area. If that’s a bit too hearty, go for the flamme kuche - a cross between a pizza and a quiche and wash it down with gewürztraminer wine.

I’m Bored…
You could explore the wine regions in Alsace and then travel into Germany and Switzerland, they can be reached in 30 minutes by car.

Any Special Events?
The most popular events in the city are the Mulhouse Carnival in summer and the Christmas Markets.
