In summer, Croatians love to be outside and Zagreb is the perfect place. With beautiful parkland and forests plus lakes, there’s so much you can join in with in the fresh air. Maksimir Park is great for a day spent walking, cycling, boating and picnicking. On summer days, the forest there is a cool haven from the city heat.
You should also drive up to the top of Medvenica for the wonderful view out over the city and to pay a respectful visit to the shrine to the soldiers who died in the Balkan War.

Zagreb Airport is also known as Pleso Airport and is the main airport serving Croatia. It is 17 km from the city centre in the town of Pleso and is the primary hub for Croatian Airlines.
How can I fly There?
There are 12 scheduled airlines currently flying into Zagreb Airport from cities in Europe. There are also 3 budget airlines and 4 charter airlines operating seasonal routes.
Can I get to the City Easily?
There is an airport bus every ½ hour to Zagreb Bus Station or you can take a taxi. Car hire is also an option - it should take 25 minutes, on route 30 to get to the city.
What Facilities are at the Airport for me?
Zagrebacka Banka and the currency exchange desk in arrivals should take care of any money needs at the airport. ATMs are conveniently located around the terminal and there is a post office, if you forgot to send a postcard. The Zrinjevac Lounge is available for all business class passengers, you can read the newspapers and help yourself to a drink. There is also a Diners Club International Airport Lounge available.
Can I Shop There?
The Welcome Shop has all those last minute items including newspapers and travel products. In departures you will find a small selection of shops featuring local souvenirs and luxury brand names.
What if I’m Hungry?
The Restaurant Faust Vrancio has waiter service or self service options and overlooks the runway. You can have national or international dishes there. For a quick snack and a coffee, head for Art Café in the East Wing of the terminal.
Is There an Airport Hotel?
No, But the Garni Hotel is just outside of the airport. The 4 star hotel rooms each have a unique design and a balcony. Free Wi-Fi is available and there is a fitness centre and indoor pool. The hotel restaurant serves Croatian and international dishes and there is a café and terrace.
