
Spain enjoys an exceptionally good and hot climate in summer and for this reason many tourists come to enjoy their summer holidays or to retire in the sun. They have excellent beaches along the coastline of the Mediterranean and Atlantic. The
Balearic and Canary Islands are also well known for their beaches.

Several beaches stand out and these include La Concha in San Sebastian. This is beach that is actually in the city. The beach is located in the Basque Country and faces out onto the Atlantic Ocean. It helps to add to the flavor of the city as many people spend their days here in the summer.
Another famous beach in the north is that of Playa de Las Catedrales in
Galicia which has spectacular rock formations. Playa del Silencio in Asturias was voted to be the best in northern Spain. Asturias also has the very popular beach Rodiles which is in Villaviciosa. The Asturian beaches are generally thought to be a little bit better that those of Galicia.
The Balearics enjoy fine sunshine and one of its best beaches is that of Ses Illetes in Formentera which was voted the best beach in the islands. The beach has crystal clear water that comes in and it is an excellent beach for snorkeling.
Catalonia’s Beaches of Sitges near Barcelona are famous for its nudist beach but there are parts of the beach that is used by the general public. This is the best beach to go to if you are staying in Barcelona.
Nerja on the Costa del Sol in Andalusia is a fabulous beach that is a little bit away from the main tourist centers of Torremolinos and Fuengirola. The Costa del Sol is one of the most popular parts of Spain and the beach at Nerja offers the holidaymaker a little bit more peace and quiet.

La Barrosa is considered to be Spain’s best beach and is in Chiclana de la Frontera in Cadiz. The beach faces the Mediterranean Sea and enjoys a fantastic climate. There are beaches that are closer to the actual town of Cadiz but it is well worth the visit to the best beach in Spain.
Maspalomas in Gran Canaria is a huge beach that extends to Playa del Ingles which is the islands main party town and to Puerto Rico. The sand can be very hot in the summer and there are spectacular sand dunes that you can explore.
Jandia in Fuerteventura is a top beach for people to enjoy and this is also found in the Canary Islands. Fuerteventura also has one other beach at Corralejo which is beautiful.

The Canary Islands have some excellent beaches and given the sub tropical climate you are able to enjoy these all year.
Playa del Torreon is a quality beach in Benicassim, Castellon and very popular for that region. The summer months the beach sees a boom in both tourists and locals alike who spend the best part of a day along this beach.
