Middlesbrough Mini Guide
Once you have your Rhino rental car you can get to surroundings areas of natural beauty such as the North Yorks Moors National Park and the Northumberland National Park which are great places to go walking or rambling. Middlesbrough has many walking and rambling clubs which you can join too.
Closer and less adventurous, but equally pleasant, is Stewart Park which is to be found four miles out of town on the A172. In its grounds is the cottage where the Captain Cook used to live. If you are driving, Middlesbrough is at the intersection of the A19 and the A66 and is an hour’s drive away from York
, Wearside and Tyneside. You should plan your route carefully as when the local football team is playing as this can massively exacerbate traffic. Dundas is one of the town’s main malls and has some decent shopping on offer. In town you will find an NCP car park below Dundas Mall. There are often spaces but the cost is expensive to use them.
There are three other shopping centres – The Cleveland shopping centre, the Captain Cook Square Shopping Centre and the Hill Street Shopping Centre. At Captain Cook Square car park near Middlesbrough Leisure centre there is short term parking available. Other short stay car parks are available near Burton Street and by the Cleveland Centre. Meanwhile Zetland multi story car park in Cannon Street does long term parking.
