Why Should I Travel To Harrogate?
The town is known for its genteel air, its beautiful public gardens and its healing springs. If you get bored of town life, all you need do is to step into your Harrogate hire car and head for the Yorkshire Dales where you can get away from it all in some of England’s most beautiful countryside. Enjoy a cream tea in Harrogate in one of the many old hotels or at Betty’s Tearooms and you’ll be transported back to a bygone age.
How Easy is it to get to Harrogate?
If you’re flying in then
car hire from Leeds Bradford Airport is only ten miles away, a journey that’ll take you around twenty minutes. You can hire a car there or, if it’s more convenient, wait until you get to Harrogate. There are many international flights to Leeds/Bradford, mostly from Europe but with one from Pakistan. If you’re travelling in from elsewhere, fly to
Heathrow first and get a connection with BA.
What is There to do in Harrogate?
There’s not a lot for the adventurous unless you head out of town and into the Yorkshire Dales. The attractions of Harrogate include taking tea at the Queen’s favourite tearooms; Betty’s, or taking a leisurely stroll through the town’s public gardens which have won ‘Britain in Bloom’ several times. There’s an important RHS garden at Harlow Carr as well as Harrogate’s pride and joy, Valley Gardens, just a little outside the town. Getting to the Dales is easy and there you’ll be able to hike, climb, abseil, kayak and more in fabulous scenery.
