The Dubai World Trade Centre Mini Guide
Dubai is famed world wide as a business centre and the Dubai World Trade Centre is the symbol of this notoriety, so much so that the building is featured on the 100 dirham banknote. Standing at 39 floors, it used to be the tallest building in Dubai though the rapid urbanisation of the city means massive new buildings are being built every day.
This business complex was built by H.H Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum (the architects were JR Harris & Partners) and is located at the Sheik Zayed Road at a roundabout which has been named after the building. The Dubai World Trade Centre has a conference centre and eight exhibition halls as well as some residential units. Most of its space is let commercially and many large companies have offices there including Sony, Federal Express, General Motors, Johnson & Johnson and MasterCard International.
Upcoming exhibitions for January 2009 include the Arabia Offshore exhibition and the Arab Health Exhibition and the trade centre is constantly holding and managing state of the art events. The Dubai World Trade Centre is at the heart of making Dubai a global and financial hub within the United Arab Emirates and the rest of the world. It is well worth driving past or stopping into should you be in Dubai for business or pleasure and is easily accessible if using car hire Dubai Airport.
