Dubai Airport Terminal 1 Guide
All of the world’s biggest airlines operate services in and out of Dubai Airport Terminal 1 with the exception of Emirates and Qantas who operate services out of Terminal 3 only.
Popular Airlines and route from Dubai Terminal 1
Whilst all major airlines operate routes to and from Terminal 1, as Dubai has increased its passenger movements year on year for decades, now handling just shy of 90 million passengers every year (6th biggest in the world as of 2018) many airlines use DXB Terminal 1 as a hub and stop over for long haul flights from west to east and visa versa.
Russia’s primary airline operate routes from Dubai to Moscow via Sheremetyevo with more and more Russians taking in the delights that Dubai has to offer.
Direct flights are available from Toronto
to Dubai with Canada’s leading national carrier. Non-stop this route is approximately 13 hours.
An increasing market, the Chinese are travelling more than ever in history as the country continues to climb the economic ladder on the world stage, the Chinese represent massive potential and Air China are capitalising on that with routes to Dubai Airport’s Terminal 1 from Beijing and Chongqing airports.
Direct routes from Paris-Charles de Gaulle, another global airport competing with DXB for top spot, the 7 hour hop arrives into Terminal 1.
Unsurprisingly, BA are very well represented at Terminal 1 and operate routes direct from London Heathrow. A longstanding route that looks unlikely to change anytime soon, even with the introduction of Al Maktoum Airport, some routes look set to stay at Dubai Terminal 1 and this one of them.
Direct flights to Amsterdam, Dubai understands the importance of working closely with the major European airlines and connecting the capital cities of Europe to Dubai has proved extremely popular for what is rarely more than an 8 hour flight from anywhere.
One of the largest airports in eastern Europe, bridging the gap from Europe to the east, routes are available from Istanbul, currently both Sabiha Gokcen and Ataturk airports offer routes, however when Ataturk closes in late 2018 that route will move directly over to Istanbul New Airport
which has Dubai firmly in it sights to eclipse on the words busiest airport list.
A longstanding route that is currently scheduled to be suspended as of March 2019, at present it is unsure as to whether Virgin will offer a route from Heathrow to Al Maktoum or discontinue it’s service into Dubai at all, which seems unlikely.
