How do I get to Indiana?
Although Indianapolis International Airport accepts international flights, those from outside of the US are restricted to the North American countries of Mexico
. Anyone wishing to fly into Indiana from elsewhere will need to connect to one of the major east coast international airports that accept flights from Europe. The easiest ones are Toronto Pearson
or Chicago O’Hare
. To get from the airport into Indianapolis, there’s a bus service that operates every fifteen minutes during peak times or an hourly bus service to other Indianan cities such as Bloomington. If you’re thinking of taking a look around the state, it’s almost certainly better to hire a car at the airport, booking online before departure.
What is There to see in Indiana?
The people of Indiana will direct you to the museums and monuments of the capital Indianapolis. There are several museums but the best ones are those that cover the history of the state and the settlers who made the state their home.
After seeing miles and miles of farmland, you may not expect to see a huge expanse of sand dunes leading to a lake as big as many seas but take your hire car to the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore and you’ll be amazed at the golden yellow sand that runs down to the lake and the crystal clear water of Lake Michigan.
