Nevsehir Mini Guide
Who Flies to Nevsehir Airport?
You’ve possibly never heard of the airport but a glance at its full name which includes the word Kapadokya gives you a clue. As one of the most photographed human settlements in Asia, the fairy chimney houses of Cappadocia are high on many people’s list of places to see in Turkey. Whilst you may fly into Nevsehir, many people take off again in a hot air balloon trip over the ancient houses for an unrivalled view.
How do I get to Nevsehir Airport?
It’s a little off the beaten track but it’s served by airports in Antalya, Alanya and Istanbul, all of which have flights from several European airports including many
UK regional airports. Once there, hire a car from Nevsehir Airport and, even if you don’t fancy a trip in a basket over the region, you’ll be able to see it perfectly well from terra firma.
What’s the Airport Like?
It looks a little tired from the outside, a theme that’s continued in the terminal. It’s light on facilities with only a duty free shop in the international terminal and a café serving buffet style hot and cold meals of a bland nature. There’s an airport information desk but with so little in the airport, it’s unlikely you’ll need their help. An indication of how behind the times the airport is can be seen in their publicity information where they’re proud to tell you how many public telephones they have!
We’d certainly recommend that you come prepared with entertainment and food for you’ll find little of note at the airport.
