Spain has grown into a holiday paradise. When the first package tours started going to Spain most of the resort places we know today were quiet villages along the coasts. Today Spain among the top holiday destinations in the world and will continue to do so.

Spain has a long history to it and its not all about beach holidays. The history of the country is awash with different cultures and architecture that relate to these cultures.
Costa Del Sol Holidays Spain
The best known holiday spot is the Costa del Sol which is where most people go on their holidays. Torremolinos, Benalmadena and Fuengirola to name but a few are located here. It is also a favorite place for many people to retire to as well.

The Costa Brava also sees vast numbers of tourists each year to places such as Lloret de Mar and this stretch of coast is beautiful. It runs 60km northeast of Barcelona to the French Border.


The Balearics are very popular with its islands of Majorca, Menorca, Formentera and Ibiza being among the most popular places to visit.
Ibiza Holidays Spain
Ibiza is abuzz with young holidaymakers who like to party and in summer Ibiza is the party capital of the world.

Majorca is a favorite place for many as it is a little more relaxed and life on the island is more inclined to the type of relaxing holiday that people want. Menorca is also a very popular place and Formentera is quieter than the other islands.

The Canary Islands is comprised of seven islands of which Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote are the most popular. The other islands of La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro have not had as many tourists.

On the mainland and in the cities there is the religious town of Santiago de Compestela which attracts pilgrams to the famous sites that are found there.

Barcelona is a thriving and exciting place to visit with many landmarks such as La Sagrada Familia, Gaudi Museum and the famous avenue of Las Ramblas.
Madrid Holidays Spain
Madrid is a testament to Spains dominace in the past and has many fantastic and historical buildings. La Plaza Real and Plaza de Cibeles also La Gran Via takes you through a very historical part of the town.

Valencia is a coastal town that is also very popular for tourists. The town is home of the famous Paella and there are many top places of interest to visit such as the magnificent central market.
There is also popular places within the main part of the peninsula with the Alhambra in Granada being Spains most popular attraction. Other places have distinctive charm such as Oviedo where the Casca Antigua is a historic part of the town and at the weekend is the main place to go out.

Spain has many distinctive places with a little of something for everyone. Whatever type of holiday you are looking for can usually be found in one of the many different regions of Spain.
