How Would I fly There?
There are scheduled flights with 10 flights daily within New Zealand to the cities of

Wellington. You can also fly to South Island’s
Christchurch. For international visitors, connections would be made through these cities. These are Air New Zealand domestic flights but are operated by Eagle Airways and Air Nelson.
How can I get to the Town?
Apollo Connect Shuttle can be pre-booked to take you from the airport to the city or you can take a taxi. Car hire is a good option there too, so you can explore the whole area. It is a three minute drive into the town and the same distance to the beaches at Mount Maunganui.
What Facilities Does the Airport Have?
It is a small airport with basic facilities. You can relax before your flight in the Koru Lounge or have a meal at the café. On-site you will find the Classic Flyers Museum which is well known locally and have a drink or snack at Avgas Café and Bar.
Where can I Stay Nearby?

Later, you can eat at the Halo Lounge Restaurant.
Special Events at the Airport
Tauranga Airport plays host to the Sportavex Biennial Fly-In and Airshow and the Tauranga City Airshow. If you are feeling adventurous, you can also try out tandem skydiving and gliding at the airport or take a trial flying lesson.
