Whilst Manzanillo might be a big city, it’s the coastal area of Colima that attracts the tourists. With some of the best beaches in Mexico and many of them uncrowded, Colima deserves more of the tourist market but for now, enjoy the peace and tranquillity. If you get too much of peace and quiet, Manzanillo has many very loud festivals and it’s renowned for them. From the Holy Week celebrations to the city’s festival celebrating its patron saint, you’re unlikely to avoid being in the middle of one during your stay.

What is the Airport Like?
The airport is big and modern and has a good range of facilities. Whilst there are no banks at the airport, HSBC have an ATM there for your pesos. There are two restaurants or cafes; Eau Café and The Plane Restaurant which serve delicious food. Whilst wireless internet is available, you’ll have to pay for it and you can get airtime at any of the stores at the airport. Talking of stores, shopping includes fashion outlets, duty free, gift shops and a bookstore. The duty free has a good range of local and international spirits, Mexican wine is also available and quite acceptable.
