If I am Stopping Over in Gyor, What is There to See?
Gyor is an ancient town, where 3 rivers meet – the Danube, the Raba and the Rabca. Some of the oldest buildings of note, are the 15th century gothic Doczy chapel and the 13th century dwelling tower. The cathedral was originally of a romanesque style but has been renovated to baroque and gothic style. The Pannonhalma Abbey is 20km away from Gyor.
Where Can I Stay?
The WHB hotel is 10 km away from the airport, conveniently situated just off the M1 motorway. It is a modern hotel with 45 rooms and a 3 star rating. There is free Wi-Fi and parking facilities and the hotel offers a buffet style breakfast. Another option is the cosy 5 room hotel Aranypatko Fogado-Etterem in Gyorujbarat, a picturesque area between Gyor and Pannonhalma and just 12 km from the airport.
