Kowloon Mini Guide

Why is Kowloon so Popular?
The answer is that there is so much to do in the city. It’s often overlooked in favour of its glitzier neighbour but deserves much of your time. It’s mostly visited by Chinese tourists from across the border but an increasing number of European and American tourists are now making the trip. Shopping is also a great draw to the city and you’ll be able to buy almost anything you want there.

How do I get to Kowloon?
Fly into Hong Kong International Airport and perhaps collect a hire car there. Most people however, save renting a car until they’re in Kowloon and instead take the train from the airport direct to Kowloon. There are many flights from all over the world to Hong Kong so getting there won’t be a problem. The best and often cheapest ticket is with BA from Heathrow.

What Should I See and Do in Kowloon?
The most important is to walk along the promenade and look back at Hong Kong across the bay. Do it again at night to see a wall of lights. If out at night, watch out for the so-called ‘Symphony of Lights’ played from the tops of the highest buildings and providing a staggering spectacle. Take a trip to the Avenue of the Stars and get a photo of the Bruce Lee statue on the Chinese version of Hollywood’s Walk of Fame - it’ll mainly be martial arts fans that will recognise the names. Elsewhere, shop and dine in exquisite outlets or just around the markets where the smell of street food will entice you.
