Customer questions about Beauvais Airport car hire

Hi, I want to rent a car in beauvais for 5 days, I will pay for extra insurance 7 eur per day, my girlfriend has a credit card but the limit is at 300 EUR, will this be ok?

Hi, the main driver is required to have a credit card in their own name, so if you don't have a credit card, your girlfriend will need to be the main driver. You can add yourself as an additional driver so you can drive the car of course. The credit card will also need to have enough credit cover the rental deposit which I often more than 300 EUR (you can view amount under T&C's / Excess, Deposit for any given car).

Me and my girlfriend will be travelling in france for one week, we would like to rent a car in Beauvais aiport on 5th of June my problem is that i do not own a credit card only debit card (mastercard)

Hi, a credit card is required in the main driver name for security I am afraid. If your girlfriend has a credit card, she can be the main driver and we can add you as an additional driver so you are able to drive. The credit card is required for security purposes.

Beauvais Airport Mini Guide

Where can I Access by Flying into Beauvais Airport?
Many people use Beauvais to get to the beautiful city of Amiens whilst the budget airlines, stretching the truth a little, call it Paris-Beauvais, indicating its use as a potential landing place for holidaymakers to the French capital. Then, of course, you may only want to spend time in Beauvais itself which is a small but pretty town with a variety of low key attractions including a popular lake, an attractive cathedral and fine shopping for regional products in its weekly market.

Which Airlines fly into Beauvais?
The airport has set itself up as a destination for low cost airlines due to the much smaller airport fees charged there.  As a result airlines such as Ryanair, Wizzair and Blue Air have set up a number of destinations from the airport which has caused passenger numbers to grow to nearly four million, a figure enhanced by the marketing of the airport as a Parisian airport. Flights from the UK depart from Prestwick, Edinburgh and a seasonal flight from Manchester.

What is the Airport Like?
Originally very small, it has had to expand rapidly to cope with ballooning passenger numbers. It now boasts two terminals, a range of shops, a restaurant and plenty of parking.

So What can I Expect Upon Arrival?
It’s one of those airports where you have to walk from the plane to the terminal but if mobility is an issue you can arrange with your airline for assistance to be provided at the aircraft steps and on through the terminal. The route through passport control can take a little while if there are large numbers of passengers arriving at the same time although domestic flight passengers can bypass this aspect of security. Once you have pulled your luggage from the carousels and made your way through customs you’ll get to the arrivals hall.

There’s no dedicated help desk at the airport and you are encouraged to seek information online. If you are really stuck then a member of the airport staff is usually willing to offer help. There is however a tourist information desk and they too should be able to help. You can collect a hire car from the terminal but it’s recommended that you pre-book it to be sure you get the car you want. If using public transport, there is a shuttle bus into Beauvais and another that goes directly to Paris. Tickets can be bought on the bus and if you are short of euros you can use the airport’s ATM.

What is it Like for Departing Passengers?
There’s a nice range of shops once you’ve checked in and collected boarding passes. You can have a massage there or gamble at the airport casino. Apart from that you can shop in the airport supermarket or, after passing through security, you can buy duty free items. If you are hungry, there’s a solitary restaurant serving a variety of hot and cold meals and snacks together with drinks. And if you need to access important emails, you can log on using the airport Wi-Fi provided by Orange.

Latest Update from Beauvais Airport:

13/03/17 – The airport has been constantly upgraded over the last few years and as a result passenger numbers are higher than ever.

23/04/12 - Beauvais Airport was important in the Second World War and evidence of it can still be seen around the airport. Ask in advance and you can take a walking tour around the wartime runway, still pockmarked with bomb craters and see the remains of bombed buildings. The theme is continued at Mortaine, north east of the airport where the support buildings remain as they were at the end of the war.
