Royal Caribbean Cancels Dubai Cruise due to Coronavirus outbreak

Passengers have woken this morning to find their cruise ship the Royal Caribbean `Jewel of the Seas` has returned to Dubai instead of its scheduled port of Abu Dhabi. Apparently the Port of Abu Dhabi is now in `lock down’ and two passengers on board the ship have been taken ill and are now being tested for the coronavirus.

Travellers were advised before the ship left port that one of the scheduled stops at Oman was already cancelled due to coronavirus fears and was replaced with an extra day in Dubai.

We have been told the customers are being offered a full refund and flights home or can stay onboard. However, this will be dependant upon the results of the coronavirus test results.

If you are concerned about the outbreak and your rental car booking, read more here on how the coronavirus will affect travel plans and what we are doing to support our customers.

"The captain has just said we finally have the results and no virus detected on board. We can now leave the ship! It still isn't going anywhere but everyone is safe thankfully"

"A letter says if Dubai choose not to let the boat stay here we will all be packed off home but if they give it permission to stay we can stay on. They just updated us saying they have no more news. It may be as late as tomorrow morning with any news."
