Who Travels to Grand Prairie?
The city isn’t particularly special and has few specific attractions for tourists and it’s more the general feel of the city that attracts visitors to the city. Away from big city life, it’s the simple pleasures that make it a good place to stay as a base for getting out into the Albertan countryside. In the city there are plenty of nice restaurants and entertainment facilities so that when you come back from a day of the great outdoors you can relax.
How Easy is it to get to Grand Prairie Airport?
The only international route is to Mexico but by flying into Edmonton
, you can access Grand Prairie Airport from many international destinations including flights from London Heathrow
in the UK with BA. From the airport it’s a short ride by Grand Prairie hire car into the city.
What is the Airport Like?
The airport is modern and has just completed a complete refurbishment and enlargement with a spacious passenger area surrounded by a small retail area, a restaurant and car hire desks. The Viewpoint Restaurant is an excellent place to eat whilst watching the planes land and take off and serves delicious a la carte meals and quick snacks. You won’t get to shop much at the airport as there is only a standalone newspaper vendor; no duty free or other retail but tenders are out for retailers to open outlets. There is free Wi-Fi at the airport so at least you can shop online!
