Krustyland is portrayed as a cut-corner, low-budget theme park in the show, and has been faithfully reproduced for this new ride.
People who buy the ticket and take the ride, will find themselves right alongside other favourite characters such as Bart, Homer and Marge, as they hurtle around the ride, encountering one surprise after another.
The ride is enabled by projecting the scene onto an 80 foot dome, in extremely high definition. The quality is quoted as being over four times that of a normal digital theatre, offering a realistic and immersive experience. The entire attraction is designed to be fun at every stage, with hilarious new Simpsons footage created not only for the ride itself, but to be used for the queue and pre-show areas as well. All of the voices in these newly made scenes were produced by the original vocal actors in the series.
This incredibly fun ride has been heralded as one of the new generation of theme park attractions, part white knuckle ride, and part multimedia extravaganza and completely fun. Suitable for children and adults alike, it has been a firm favourite with families since its launch. The new Simpsons ride, Krustyland is also one of the Universal attractions which can be added to the popular Universal Express Ticket. Purchasing such a ticket ensures that you and your family do not have to join the queue and wait to board your chosen rides, you are on the fast track to fun.
Universal management have been unwilling to comment upon questions asked regarding the construction of a further Simpsons themed ride, rumours of which arose last month. There can be no doubt that the current ride has been an unprecedented success, so it would seem to make perfect commercial sense to tap this revenue stream further. In contrast, it could also be said that one ride per theme is a better business decision, allowing for greater diversity, and the ability to shift focus as consumer tastes change, today it’s The Simpsons, who knows what the children will be watching at this time next year?
Any family visiting Orlando should definitely think of taking in the new Simpson ride, Krustyland at Universal whilst they are visiting, it is truly a theme park ride like no other, and proves once again that Orlanda is the theme park centre of the world.
