The Easter Holidays brings light for Europeans fed up with the cold.

3/12/2009
The Easter holidays are proving to be the light at the end of the tunnel for many Europeans who are fed up with cold weather and the constant media attention on the recession.
Rhino Car Hire is already reporting a rise of 20% in car rentals for the Easter period between April 17 - April 21.

These bookings are almost all taking place in countries with reliably warm weather as holiday makers from countries such as France and Germany look to escape the Arctic conditions of the last few months.
Many of the car hire customers are coming from Britain, hardly surprising as the country has had unprecedented levels of snow recently as well as slipping into a recession at the start of 2009.

Rhino car hire spokesman Robert Frische said: “The impending arrival of the Easter holidays is creating a surge in car hire which is very welcome following the impact of the global financial crisis on the travel market.
“People will always feel the need to take a holiday, and right now we are seeing that many families have had enough of all the doom and gloom in continental Europe.

“Easter is of course a time when families traditionally like to be together and despite the poor state of the world economy there are plenty of good value travel deals available.”
He added: “They want to go away for a week or 10 days and just forget about all the recent bad news. And who can blame them?”

Countries which are proving popular for car rental and holidays include Cyprus, Croatia, the Canary Islands and the Greek Islands.

However, due to the credit crunch there has also been a rise in bookings for lesser known countries where tourists can make their money stretch further. These include countries in Eastern Europe and North Africa.
