Car Rental News

The car rental company Europcar has signed a deal with the Japanese car manufacturer Nissan to produce electric cars over the next three years.

These electric cars will have zero carbon emissions and so help the environment by not contributing to the problem of global warming.
Europcar chief operating officer, Rafael Girona, said: “We plan to give our customers the option of exploring a bold, new means of transportation.
“The new Nissan electric car will allow Europcar rental clients the unique experience of using an electric vehicle. We have formed this partnership in order to encourage our customers to become better eco-citizens.”
The electric car is nearly ready for production and should be unveiled at the 2009 Tokyo motor show.
Senior vice president at Nissan International, Eric Nicolas, said: “Nissan and Europcar share a vision in which introducing and expanding the proliferation of electric vehicles is a good solution for sustaining the growing need for global mobility.”
