Derby has so much for the tourist to do whilst staying in the city. It’s home to the Rolls Royce company’s jet engine plant and the site has a small but informative museum detailing the development of jet propulsion. The museum isn’t always open so you may need to phone to arrange a visit.
Another fascinating trip into the industrial history of the city comes at the Royal Crown Derby china factory. There, you can have a guided tour of the processes that make the finished china and have the opportunity to buy discounted pieces at the end.
