To get a feel for the period make a visit to the Industrial Museum at the Moorside Mills and if you like horses you won’t be disappointed as it’s also home to a team of working horses.
Don’t panic if history is not your thing as Bradford today is a vibrant cosmopolitan city with a rich ethnic culture. There is a wide range of fun and entertainment available and after dark when it’s time to play, the trendy crowds gather in the Manor Row and Manningham Lane areas. The clubbing scene is ever evolving and many fashionable new clubs and drinking dens are springing up in the West end of the city which is being rapidly transformed into an up and coming district.
Arts and Entertainment
Bradford is a haven for cinema lovers. From Hollywood to Bollywood you’ll find it all there. It’s home to the National Media Museum and every year in March it hosts its own International film festival. In June the Bradford Mela takes place. Mela, a Sanskrit word meaning a gathering is a cultural event that melts together the different communities and best illustrates the rich diversity of the city. Many workshops and activities take place as well as various arts performances making it a perfect family event.
In November there is a special treat for animation lovers as visitors can enjoy the most well established animation festival in the UK which is held annually in Bradford. What About The Food?
No visit to Bradford would be complete without sampling some of Britain’s best Asian restaurants. It was voted the curry capital of Britain in 2011 but is definitely not limited to excellence in one area. Perhaps due partly to its Yorkshire location it has some fantastic atmospheric pubs that brew their own ale and crisp English cider. Perfect for lazy Sunday afternoons or chilling out with friends before hitting the town.

Bradford has its own motorway that links with the M1 which makes getting there a piece of cake. Just get on the M606 and unless you drive with your eyes closed (not recommended) you can’t miss it. Bus services are also available from all major towns and cities.
