The quaint market town of Banbury is worth stopping by to visit if you are in Oxfordshire and have already been to see Oxford. Banbury is located 100 kilometres away from London and so is slightly closer to Birmingham which is 60 kilometres away. All within easy reach with cheap car hire Banbury.

Two of the town’s famous inns remain, namely The Reindeer and the large 17th century Whateley Hall Hotel. “Castle Quay” is a large shopping centre in the town. It has over 80 stores and many household names are to be found there. A local market is held every Thursday and Saturday in the market place and there is also a farmers’ market held on the first Friday of each month.
There is a good selection of restaurants offering international cuisine and a large number of pubs and bars. For sports enthusiasts there are leisure centres, sports clubs, golf and horse riding.
There are many places of interest in the Oxfordshire area such as the Sulgrave Manor and Broughton Castle. The towns of Stratford upon Avon, Warwick and Oxford are easily accessible by car and all are within a 50km radius. Car hire is an excellent option to explore the county.
