Denver is the largest in Colorado and the State capital, known as the “Mile High City” because of the altitude where it lies. It is a bustling city supporting an ever growing metropolitan area. With the attraction of the magnificent Rocky Mountains fifteen miles to the west of town, this city should hold many wonderful memories for any visitor.
The Denver skyline, best seen at night is a truly magnificent sight, with a full spectrum of colours set against a starry sky is something to behold. Shopping in the 16th Street Mall, so named because it runs the entire length of 16th St, is a good day out and gives you the chance to pick up a bargain, or a souvenir of you stay. There are so many things to see in Denver, from taking in the arts at one of the many museums, or spending a day at Denver Zoo, something for everyone. Festivals take place every month and give you a chance to enjoy the Rodeo, or sample the local brew at the Great American Beer Festival. The nightlife in the city is very vibrant, with some of the restaurants being noted in recent top food publications and offer gastronomic delights to savour any pallet.
Then along to one of its many bars, for a refreshing drink and watch the world go by. Getting around this huge city is made much easier by renting a car, that way you are not tied to public transport timetables and will ensure that you do not miss a thing and you can go at your own pace.
Denver International Airport is served by, Frontier, United and Southwest Airlines and is approximately twenty miles east of Downtown .So pre booking your rental car is advised and your vacation starts straight away.
