Charlotte Mini Guide
Charlotte, situated in the southern part of North Carolina, is the largest city in the State. This city has had heavy growth for the past twenty years and has become very successful. Named in honour of The German Princess Charlotte of Mecklenburg. There is a vast amount of historic value to this city, hence the locally named, “City of churches”.
The differing districts, which make up this up and coming city offer any visitor an insight into things past and present. Uptown, often referred to as “The Centre of things” has everything you would expect from a thriving city. From high rise condos to museums, all relevant to what makes this city great. Even though the centre of the city is home to government buildings and several fortune 500 headquarters, it still has everything a visitor would expect. Fine dining restaurants, which cater for every taste, to nightclubs where you can dance the night away.
Or maybe a trip to the theatre to watch a show and then end the night in a bar, relaxing with a glass of wine admiring the fantastic skyline, lit with a spectrum of colour. Although Charlotte does have the usual amount of public transport, the only way to see this fair city is by hiring a rental car and taking things at your own pace. That way you are not tied to the local transport timetable and it makes your visit more personal and pleasurable. There are so many things to see and do in Charlotte; it really would be a shame to miss anything,
Charlotte Douglas International Airport is the only airport serving mostly domestic flights but does have service to as far as Munich. Trains and taxis are readily available but for a true Charlotte experience, renting a car at the airport ensures you get the most of your visit.
