Arlington is set in the Prairies and Lakes region, and is the seventh largest city in Texas. Founded in 1875 and after the introduction of the railroad in 1876 became a thriving producer in the cotton farming industry. With the arrival of the general Motors assembly plant in 1954, the city grew into the city it is today.
There is so much to see and do in the city, from shopping at, Parks at Arlington which is located in Cooper Street and offers something for everyone’s taste, to the Festival Discount Mall, where you will find a bargain or two and maybe something to remind you of your visit. Johnnie High’s Country Music Revue is a must for Country music lovers or a trip to Louis Tussaud’s Palace of Wax and Ripleys Believe it or not should be high on your itinerary. Arlington is also home to Six Flags over Texas, which is a nationwide theme park, which houses some fantastic themed rides and many notable attractions, a good family day out. Hurricane Harbour is a well known water park, which also offers good family fun and a must see experience.

Dallas/Fort worth International Airport is located twelve miles to the north of the city and is served by all the major American carriers. The airport is the perfect place to pick up your rental car and by arranging this in advance, means you will not have to be ruled by public transport timetables and you are free to explore at your own pace.
