The ruggedly beautiful Alaska is the largest of the United States of America.
Although the capital of Alaska is Juneau, it is only the third largest city in the state. Anchorage is actually the biggest city in Alaska and Fairbanks is the second city.
The beautiful port city of Anchorage is surrounded by areas of outstanding natural beauty, though they also include a volcano which is currently on the verge of erupting.
Anchorage is located by the Gompertz Channel and the Gulf of Alaska. It is a cosmopolitan town which still manages to remain unspoilt despite having many good shops, bars and restaurants.
This vast state is home to many species of animals such as moose, bears and migratory birds. There are many national parks near in Alaska which are worth visiting such as the Denali National Park and Preserve, the Lake Clark National Park and Preserve, the Glacier Bay National Park and the Kenai Wildlife Refuge.
Many people also come to Alaska to fishing for the whopping salmon which migrate up its rivers. which still manages to remain unspoilt
