These include the farmers market where you can buy some wonderful fresh produce with everything from vegetables to fish on offer. Entry to the fair is free and it is located on King Edward Street on the first Saturday of the month between 9am and 2pm. One of the must see places to visit in Perth is Scone palace which has seen Robert the Bruce and Prince Charles coronated there, among 42 other Scottish royals. As the tickets to enter the place are quite overpriced you may want to consider just getting a ticket to walk around the grounds.
These kings who visited Scone Palace were crowned on something known as the ‘stone of destiny’, though visitors can only see a replica of this today. The stone was reputedly stolen by King Edward I who stashed it somewhere in London. But the stone was brought back and today sits in Edinburgh Castle.
