Nairobi is known as the safari capital of Africa and with good reason. Surrounding the city for dozens of miles in every direction is the Nairobi National Park where all of the famous safari animals can be seen in the wild and also in sanctuaries which often look after young animals orphaned by hunters.
Hire a car to get to an adventurous day out on the Tana River which offers white knuckle raft rides down as far as 14 Falls which, as the name says, is a series of beautiful waterfalls that cascade into the valley below.

The weather in Nairobi is a moderate climate with warm sunny days and much cooler evenings, so you will need warm clothing at night temperatures drop occasionally to around 10 degrees Celsius.
Although Nairobi is more of a business center, there are several notable tourist areas to visit. For people who enjoy natural surroundings Nairobi has many parks to explore, Uhuru Park is the most well known for its political speeches and rallies.
The Nairobi National Park contains many protected wild species to observe in their own habitat such as giraffes and lions and a safari can be a fun day out. For more cultural days visit the National Museum of Kenya, Nairobi Railway Museum and the Karen Blixen Museum.
For sports fun Nairobi has some fantastic locations such as Moi International Stadium and the Coca Cola National Stadium, which hold events all year round.
For golf enthusiasts there are plenty to choose from with sic golf courses within just a 20-kilometre radius of Nairobi! All these areas are accessible by road and car as the city has a well developed motorway system.
