The French city of Lille is steeped in history and some archaeological digs have dated the area back to 2000BC. Up until the 1960's it was predominately a textile, coal and mining town before expanding in population and started to concentrate providing service sector business.

Having won 8 national trophies you can visit the stadium and take a guided tour around. The upcoming young star called Gael Kakuta from Lille now plays for English side Chelsea F.C.
Lille is full of wonderful gardens to visit such as Jardin Botanique de la Faculte de Pharmacie, Jadrin des Plantes de Lille. Also the Citadel of Lille is a worthy attraction.
