"Beauvais Airport car rentals are used by customers who want to go to the city of Beauvais or the nearby French capital Paris."

cheap car hire Beauvais Airport

Beauvais Airport (BVA), or the Beauvais-Tillé Airport, is a small two terminal airport which deals with just under three million passengers annually. Many of them are in this part of Northern France on business but we also get people who want to drive to the capital.

If you are unable to find the vehicle that you want at the right price in Paris then car hire Beauvais Airport can make a cheap alternative. Although Beauvais Airport is connected to the city by taxi and shuttle bus, renting a car can work out more time/cost effective than either form of transport.

Beauvais Airport Mini Guide

Where can I Access by Flying into Beauvais Airport?
Many people use Beauvais to get to the beautiful city of Amiens whilst the budget airlines, stretching the truth a little call it Paris-Beauvais, indicating its use as a potential landing place for holidaymakers to the French capital. Then, of course, you may only want to spend some time in Beauvais itself which is a small but pretty town with a variety of low key attractions including a popular lake, an attractive cathedral and fine shopping for regional products in its weekly market.

Which Airlines fly into Beauvais?
The airport has set itself up as a destination for low cost airlines due to the much smaller airport fees charged there.  As a result airlines such as Ryanair, Wizzair and Blue Air have set up a number of destinations from the airport which has caused passenger numbers to grow to nearly three million, a figure enhanced by the marketing of the airport as a Parisian airport. Flights from the UK depart from Prestwick, Edinburgh and a seasonal flight from Manchester.

What is the Airport Like?

Originally very small, it has had to expand rapidly to cope with ballooning passenger numbers. It now boasts two terminals, a range of shops, a restaurant and plenty of parking.

So What can I Expect Upon Arrival?

It’s one of those airports where you have to walk from the plane to the terminal but if mobility is an issue you can arrange with your airline for assistance to be provided at the aircraft steps and on through the terminal. The route through passport control can take a little while if there are large numbers of passengers arriving at the same time although domestic flight passengers can bypass this aspect of security. Once you have pulled your luggage from the carousels and made your way through customs you’ll get to the arrivals hall.

There’s no dedicated help desk at the airport and you are encouraged to seek information online. If you are really stuck then a member of the airport staff is usually willing to offer help. There is however a tourist information desk and they too should be able to help. You can collect a hire car from the terminal but it’s recommended that you pre-book it to be sure you get the car you want. If using public transport, there is a shuttle bus into Beauvais and another that goes directly to Paris. Tickets can be bought on the bus and if you are short of euros you can use the airport’s ATM.

What is it Like for Departing Passengers?
There’s a nice range of shops once you’ve checked in and collected boarding passes. You can have a massage there or gamble at the airport casino. Apart from that you can shop in the airport supermarket or, after passing through security, you can buy duty free items. If you are hungry, there’s a solitary restaurant serving a variety of hot and cold meals and snacks together with drinks. And if you need to access important emails, you can log on using the airport Wi-Fi provided by Orange.
