Latchi is a sleepy fishing village on the North West coast of Cyprus near the town of Polis. The village is really only a beachside strip of tavernas and souvenir shops with some holiday apartments and small hotels.
Most people visit for its proximity to the Akamas National Park with the famous ‘Baths of Aphrodite’ where she and Adonis were meant to have first met. The road through the park is very dangerous in places and not recommended for hire cars. Instead book a place on a jeep safari and see the scenery whilst others negotiate the rough roads.

One of the main restaurants in the area is La Plage which has excellent freshly caught seafood. It is just one of a number of fish taverns to wish the local fishermen bring their catch of the day.

If you hire a boat as you go out of the Marina turn left and sail along for a few miles and you will come to the area locally known as the Blue Lagoon, which is fantastic, you cant miss it as you will suddenly see the water change from dark blue to turquoise. Many boats moor up here using the floating buoys and the occupants jump into the warm water. For those of you who like Indian food there is a great Indian takeaway in Latsi/Latchi where you can buy all the usual Indian meals all cooked by Indian vhefs. Just pull up outside in your car and pop in and place your order.
