Puerto Calero Mini Guide
Puerto Calero is situated on the south coast of the Canary Island of Lanzarote between Puerto del Carmen and Playa Quemada. This amazing holiday resort is only ten kilometres from Arrecife Airport. Use car hire Puerto Calero as your transportation method from the airport and you will find the whole process to be easy. Having a car is a great way to get around even if you end up parking it in the marina. The Puerto Calero marina is a modern and exclusive luxury yacht harbour with full security should you choose to leave your car here.
Weather wise the marina is sheltered from the North-Easterly winds and the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura also gives some protection. Restaurants and cafes overlook the marina and it is a relaxing area to sit, perhaps have a meal, and take in the atmosphere. There are also lots of activities for the more active. The luxury catamaran, Catlanza, sails daily and a Submarine Safari also operates from the marina. There are a limited number of shops but there do include some stylish boutiques.
The resort is a base for water sports and on land sports lovers will be happy to know that an18 hole golf course is also due for completion in this area. Marlin and Blue-fin Tuna are to be found in the waters and fishing trips are available. Diving schools operate from the Marina and offer tuition from beginner through to advanced levels. The residential area of Puerto Calero contains many impressive villas.
