Caleta De Fuste Mini Guide

Costa Caleta, which means cove, is known as Caleta de Fuste by people who live in Fuerteventura or Costa Castillo because of the old castle which overlooks the bay. This resort caters to everyone including singles, couples and families with its beautiful weather and range of activities. There are a multitude of white sandy beaches in Costa Caleta and they combine with the modern white architecture of the resort to dazzle

The sea is also particularly calm in this wonderful spot on the east coast of the island which makes it an ideal place to go if you have small children. There is a long palm filled promenade on Costa Caleta which has hotels, apartments and villas which look out over the curved bay and  the crystal blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

A four million Euro plan has recently been approved to further improve the beach and surrounding facilities this year. Water sports are in abundance for those who are looking for action such as water skiing, paragliding or windsurfing. And there are two 18-hole golf courses, one of which is a championship course which hosted the 2004 Spanish Open, so sport lovers are well catered for. The resort has been purpose built to cater for everyone in a safe and sheltered environment about 10 minutes south from the main airport of Fuerteventura. Taxis are readily available in Costa Caleta it is only 20 minutes to the capital Puerto Del Rosario by bus.

The accommodation on Costa Caleta comes in many forms. Reasonable priced Chinese, Indian, Thai, Greek, Mexican, Portuguese, Italian, English and authentic Spanish restaurants are also all within a close area, so there is something for every taste. There is plenty of nightlife too, with bars offering live music and karaoke, while children can be kept occupied in the 10 pin bowling alley, water park or the multi-screen cinema.
