I was on a ski holiday last winter with a group of friends and could not resist the opportunity to play a bit of a practical joke with one of them.  Having fallen for the chalet host, Adam was in for a bit of a hard time on a 'lads only' ski holiday.  As you can imagine, the jokes were free flowing but the piece de resistance was saved for the slopes.

Having been plagued for some considerable time by grey squirrels and pigeons stealing all the ‘nice’ little birds food that I lay down in my rear garden it was with some pleasure and amazement when looking through the kitchen window that I saw a Sparrowhawk swoop down and seize a pigeon in its talons –

Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the airport along comes another ridiculous drain on your wallet.  Small airports in the United Kingdom are apparently suffering from the recession and so have decided to charge passengers to enter the departure lounge (spare a thought for us citizens who are already dealing with mass unemployment, paying more tax and increased petrol and utility bills).

There are many spots in the world which offer wonderful driving experiences but choosing to rent a car has other considerations. The best car hire destinations depend on price, availability of vehicles and ease of driving. The latter is important because driving a rental car in a country where the road system and rules are totally different to what you are used to is a nerve-wracking experience. However it all depends on how adventurous you are feeling….
