Not sure where to travel this summer?

Whether it be the city, the beach, or that all important tick off the bucket list that you’re looking for this summer, you’re sure to find a range of tempting suggestions below. Read on for ideas that will make your next holiday one to remember.

A city-break with a difference: CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA

A fascinating, multicultural city full of natural wonders. Cape Town is a breath taking mix of urban landscapes, charming villages and golden beaches, with the cultivated areas of the city, such as the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, making it a delight to explore. This city escape needn’t break the bank either, with affordable restaurants and Castle Lager available for a mere quid. Even the five star hotels cost a small portion of what they would elsewhere.

Europe on a budget: ANDALUCIA, SPAIN

Spain’s southern coast is a sun-baked retreat typifying everything Spanish from its scrumptious seafood and tremendous tapas to the Moorish architecture and exceptional coastline. In Seville it is possible to stay in Moorish digs and consume local, farm produce for a bargain of a price. Cadiz also offers a range of up and coming delightful areas that will leave you surprised by its affordability.

A Beach Break away from the crowds: SRI LANKA

The Maldives has long had the monopoly on luxury beach holidays, however if you choose the area carefully, Sri Lanka has all the enjoyment and indulgence at a fraction of the price. In the area of Trincomalee, for example, on the island’s up and coming east coast you can find a romantic beach retreat surrounded by soft sandy beaches that won’t cost the earth. This tiny island nation is a land of rugged wildlife, rainforest and endless coastlines just waiting to be explored.

Adventure and the Great Outdoors: NEW ZEALAND

Have you always wanted to parachute out of the sky or bungee jump in beautiful surroundings? New Zealand, in particular the area of Queenstown, will meet all of these needs and more. It’s the capital of adventure and a bargain-basement place to get that thrill. And after the adventure has taken place where better to appreciate all that is magical about the great outdoors?

The bucket-list break: GREAT WALL OF CHINA

Visiting the Great Wall of China is something many of us have long desired, however few realise how easy a trip it can be. It’s just a short drive away from the city of Beijing and entrance to the site itself is an unbelievable and slightly ludicrous £5. Tourists can visit all sections of the wall either independently or as part of a tour and there really is something for everyone along the wall. Choose from busy Badaling or scenic Mutianyu. Let’s tick it off the bucket list because as Mao Zedong said, “He who has not climbed the Great Wall is not a true man”.
