Spain has an excellent, fast motorway network and, unlike many European countries, a lot of the stretches are toll free. As a general rule, you’ll only find toll roads on the arterial motorways out of Madrid, along the Mediterranean coast, the southern Pyrenees route from Bilbao to Barcelona and around the cities of Seville, Malaga, Leon, Pamplona and Santiago.
